A number of you have expressed an interest in becoming more financially savvy as well as more fiscally responsible. This page will be used to help provide information that we feel is beneficial to help you become better stewards of your finances, as well as presenting ideas to help you save money. This approach was designed after talking to a number of you who expressed the idea that you want to become a regular contributor to Aldersgate, but aren’t sure that you can make that switch at this point in your life. |

April’s items: · If you are getting a refund, what are your plans for the money? Are you going to use it to pay down or pay off debt? Or, are you going to use it for some special purpose? In any case, think carefully through your decision. If you’ve decided that this is the year to tackle your debt, making a major purchase now (even if you had promised it to yourself) may derail your plans. Having a goal is great, but sticking to it is even greater. · The Economic Stimulus checks that are going out to persons with a valid Social Security number, at least $3000 in income (even if Social Security or disability payments), and who file a 2007 Federal tax return. |
