Meet Pastor Dave
Pastor David Hiester and his wife, Tracy
Hello! I've been the pastor here at Aldersgate UMC since the summer of 2002. I am happily married to the love of my life, Tracy, and have four marvelous children. Like you, I have discovered that life is full of all sorts of twists and turns, and ups and downs. I was a 29 year old restaurant manager when I finally stopped running from God and stepped into a relationship with Him. It was God's overwhelming love and grace that healed, and is healing, me still today. My prayer is that you discover that love. Because when you do, you'll never recover from it. It has the power to break addictions, heal hurts, and restore relationships.
Shortly after that I sensed a call from God to enter the ministry, I left the Salt Lake area and entered Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky where I obtained my Master of Divinity. I was ordained an Elder in the United Methodist Church in the summer of 2006.
Some of my favorite things are laughing with good friends and family, and having deep meaningful conversations about God, His Word, and what it means to truly follow Jesus. Few things excite me more than helping others connect with the love and grace of God. I also enjoy cycling, softball, tennis, camping and anything else you can do outside.
I'm excited you're looking into our church, and I'm confident that you'll find our people warm and welcoming, and our worship deep and meaningful. Our goal is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, and I hope you'll at least give us a try.
